Working with Sam Kaminsky was an unforgettable experience. As a casual model, I tend to do a lot of posed and curated shoots based on a photographer or designers vision. This shoot, however, was completely led by my own feelings and experiences. Being able to show such deep emotion in front of a camera was some thing I have never had the opportunity to do. It felt so freeing, there’s just no other way to describe it. We explored a personal journey into depression and on a path towards appreciating life, and finding happiness in the hardest of times; especially being misunderstood in this journey. 

The intimate experience gave so much more to me than I could’ve ever imagined, and thanks to Sam I feel like a transformed person and model. I feel like I finally had the chance to show self-expression through art, and I’m going to cherish these photos forever.

Working with Sam was pure magic. She has a really amazing creative eye. I've had the pleasure of working with so many amazing photographers but Sam's ability to direct movement was outstanding. She told me exactly where to look, how to tilt my head, what to do with my body so that we could capture the most stunning shots. I'm a movement coach and I spend a lot of time directing other peoples movement so it was so wonderful to have someone do the same for me. 

Sam is not doing cookie-cutter photoshoots, she's allowing the individual's personality to lead. Her encouragement allowed me to show up as myself fully.

Sam was inviting, professional and made me feel comfortable right away. She adapted to all my desires for our shoot and I absolutely LOVED the photos she took! 

My first experience shooting with Sam was transformational. As a social media influencer I often collaborate with different photographers, but Sam challenged me to expose a more vulnerable version of myself. I was surprised at how comfortable she made me feel posing nude with my baby. Instead of focusing on my own insecurities I was able to focus on my connection with my son. There is something about Sam, how genuine she is, which creates a safe space for her models to express themselves genuinely as well. 

She is still my favourite photographer to shoot with, not just because of the astonishing final products but also the experience itself 

I’ve always felt so uncomfortable in front of a camera and my experience doing a photoshoot with Sam was truly a healing experience. From the start, she helped me dig into my own intentions and values to capture my essence. You can tell that she is extremely passionate about her work and about her clients. When the day of the shoot came, I felt so comfortable and held. Her energy hyped me up so much that I ended up doing some crazy stuff!! Sam allowed me to be fully myself and feel like a goddess. The pictures came out AMAZING and we had so much fun shooting. She gave such good directions!
